Getting started
GlowUpSync works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. There’s nothing to install.
Salon setup isn’t open yet. To see it working, explore the demo, or ask us for a demo.
Managing your salon
- The owner sets the services, their prices and how long each takes, and who can do each one.
- Opening hours, each stylist’s own hours and time off decide which times customers can book.
- Bookings made by phone or at the desk go into the same calendar.
- Payments and tips are recorded when they’re paid at the salon. GlowUpSync doesn’t take payments.
Stylist accounts
A stylist’s own account is free and holds their profile and portfolio. When a salon invites them, they join its team. More about stylist accounts
Customer questions
- Customers book on the salon’s own booking site, confirming their email address with a code.
- They can move or cancel a booking themselves, within the salon’s rules.
- Their hairstyle photos are private to them until they choose some to show for a booking.
Questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. GlowUpSync works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, so there’s nothing to install, for your team or for your customers.
Can customers choose a stylist?
Yes. A customer can start with a service and then pick a stylist, or any available stylist to see everyone’s free times.
They can also start from a stylist’s own page and book with them directly.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes. Your booking pages carry your salon’s name and your logo. Choose a designed theme, set your own colours on top, and preview them before your customers see them. Emails to your customers carry your logo too.
Whatever colours you choose, the pages stay readable, and booking works the same way.
Separately, each member of your team can choose light or dark and a colour scheme for their own screens. That changes only what they see, not your salon’s branding.
Can I use my own domain or existing website?
You can link to your booking pages from the website you already have. Using your own domain name for them isn’t offered at the moment.
Can customers pay online?
Not at the moment. Customers pay at the salon, and your team records what was paid in GlowUpSync, tips included. Nothing is charged through it.
Who can see customer photographs?
A customer’s hairstyle photos are private to them. They choose which ones to show for a booking or a consultation.
The salon’s team on that booking or conversation then see those photos, with the customer’s own rating and notes. The customer can take them off again at any time.
What happens when a stylist leaves?
Their own stylist account, profile and portfolio stay theirs, apart from photos taken at your salon, which you can remove.
Your salon keeps its own records. Its bookings and customers don’t go with them.
Is there a free trial?
There’s no time-limited trial. To see GlowUpSync working first, explore the demo salon, or ask us to show you around.
What will setting up a salon cost? Review: The planned service: salon setup isn’t open yet (DECISIONS D-36).
Nothing. Preparing your salon will be free, with no card and no deadline.
Your salon takes real bookings only once you choose Start paid plan. Before you confirm, you’ll see how many stylists are bookable and what your first bill will be.
We’ll set up the first salons with them personally, once salon setup is ready.
Can I set up before paying?
Salon setup isn’t open yet. Until it is, you can explore the demo salon, or ask us to show you around.
Can you import my existing customer data?
Not at the moment. There’s no import from another booking system yet. Talk to us about how you’d get started.
What does a bookable stylist mean? Review: The planned service: billing isn’t built yet (DECISIONS D-35).
A stylist your salon has made available to be booked through GlowUpSync. It doesn’t depend on how many appointments they have.
An owner or manager who isn’t bookable doesn’t count. An owner who takes bookings does.
What happens when my team changes? Review: The planned service: billing isn’t built yet (DECISIONS D-35).
A stylist you add costs nothing extra in the month you’ve paid for. The new total starts at your next renewal.
You can stop a stylist being bookable straight away. The fee for that month stands, with no part-month refund, and the lower total starts at your next renewal.
What happens if I cancel? Review: The planned service: billing, export and deletion aren’t built yet, and the legal review isn’t done (DECISIONS D-39).
You can stop renewing at any time, with no fixed term. Your paid access runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for.
The plan is 30 days of read-only access, so you can view and export your customer records, but not create or edit bookings or records. We then delete them, apart from what the law requires us to keep, such as accounting records, and copies in backups until they clear. Export and deletion aren’t built yet.
That covers your salon’s own records, not a stylist’s own account, or what another salon holds.
How do I get help or cancel?
For help, use the contact page. Salons can’t subscribe yet, so there’s nothing to cancel.
